After a great set of stops in Ohio, my "neighborhood tour" led me to Western Maryland and central West Virginia, to meet up with some great paddling friends and paddle two of my favorite rivers in the eastern US. The core group, Olly, Dave, Dave, Mark and I paddled together for four days straight, and along the way, joined up with several other old and new (to me) paddling buddies, including Laura, Jack, Briggs, Denise, Ed, Angela, Sara, Scott, and George. For the first two days, we paddled the Upper Youghiogheny in Maryland; for the second set of two days, we paddled the gorgeous Lower Gauley River in West Virginia. The weather was perfect, the rivers were awesome, and the paddling buddies were great. And we had so much fun that we decided to do it again three weeks later!
